The Master of Color Stampa, Switzerland, 1877. The air in the Val Bregaglia is sharp, and for Antonio Augusto Giacometti, the world begins with the heavy weight of lineage. He is a second cousin to Giovanni Giacometti, part of an extended family tree that would eventually produce Alberto and Diego. n 1897 and 1901, the atmosphere shifts. Under the guidance of Eugène Grasset at the School of Decorative Arts, Giacometti learns the language of floral graphics. He adopts a style reminiscent of William Morris, applying manual skill to mosaics, clocks, and posters. The decorative becomes his foundation.
