The Life and Art of Mindy Weisel Mindy Weisel is an American abstract visual artist and author. Born in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Germany, she is the daughter of Auschwitz survivors and the cousin of Nobel Prize winner Elie Wiesel. Her artistic journey began at the age of 14, leading her to pursue formal education at California State University and the Otis Art Institute. She eventually earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degr
ee from George Washington University in 1977 and completed post-graduate studies at American University. Her creative output extends beyond the canvas into literature.
