Early Life, Family and Training August Kessler enters the world on 30 December 1826 in Tilsit, Kingdom of Prussia (Sovetsk, Russia). The foundations of his career are laid within the family circle. His father, Christian Friedrich Kessler, provides the initial instruction, introducing the young boy to the mechanics of painting. This early guidance establishes the technical groundwork before the formal academy years begin. The year 1841
marks a shift toward professional rigor. August Kessler enrolls at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, moving into the structured environment of formal art education.
