Johan Pasch
The Life and Career of Johan Pasch Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Johan Pasch was a painter, etcher, and decorative artist. He began his artistic journey studying under his father, Danckwardt Pasch, until 1724, after which he became a journeyman painter. His professional path included several study trips to Holland and Paris. In 1734, he was certified as a Master after taking over his father's workshop. He was among the first students at th
e newly founded Kungliga Ritareakademien, where he studied drawing with Guillaume Taraval. His professional connections included working with the architect Carl Hårleman and serving as Taraval's teaching assistant. Pasch was appointed a Court painter in 1748 and later held the position of Hovintendent in 1758.
