The Artistic Language of Robert Reed Robert Reed was an American artist and professor of painting and printmaking who dedicated 45 years to the Yale School of Art. His creative practice was defined by geometric abstraction and the use of personalized symbols to construct a unique visual language. Through deeply textured brushwork, color, and abstract symbols, Reed developed an iconic imagery that remained referential to the real world.
His compositions often organized fragments, paths, and universal signs alongside remembered images and places.
