Philip de László: život v barvách

Philip Alexius de László: Život a odkaz

      Raný život a vzdělání

Philip Alexius de László, narozený jako Fülöp Laub 30. dubna 1869 v Budapešti v Maďarsku, vzlétl z prostých poměrů až k pozici oslavovaného portrétního malíře evropské královské rodiny a aristokracie. Jeho rodiče, Adolf a Johanna Laubové, byli krejčí a švadlena židovského původu. Zpočátku prošel praktikou u fotografa, zatímco usiloval o své umělecké vzdělání. Usnadnil si cestu na Národní akademii výtvarných umění v Budapešti, kde studoval pod vedením mistrů Bertalan Székely a Károly Lotz. Další studia v Mnichově a Paříži pak jeho umělecké obzory dále rozšířila.

      Umělecký rozvoj a vlivy

      Kariéra a hlavní úspěchy

      • Výrazní modelové: Sir Alfred East, Winifred Cavendish-Bentinck (vdkyně z Portlandu), Lady Louise Mountbatten (královna Švédska), Vita Sackville-West, papež Lev XIII., Augusta Viktorie (německá císařovna), princezna Alice z Battenbergové a mnoho dalších.
      • Ctění a uznání: V roce 1909 byl jmenován členem královského řádu viktoriánského (MVO) králem Edwardem VII. V roce 1ること2 byl šlechtěn maďarským císařem Františkem Josefem I. a přijal jméno „de László de Lombos”.

      Osobní život a překážky

      Umělecký styl a témata

      Historický význam a odkaz

Dílo Philipa de Lászlého poskytuje cenný pohled do života a vzhledu evropské vysoké společnosti konce 19. a počátku 20. století.
