Born in Phoenix, Arizona, and raised in East Texas, Graydon Parrish is a realist painter who currently resides in Austin, Texas. His artistic journey began under the influence of his parents, who were collectors of nineteenth-century European and American art. This early exposure guided him toward an academic figurative style. After attending the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, he pursued further education at the New York Academy of Art, where he earned an MFA in painting. He also holds a B.A. from Amherst College.
