The Life and Art of Giuseppe Diotti Francesco Giuseppe Antonio Diotti was an Italian painter of the Neoclassic style. Born in Casalmaggiore, he began his training as an apprentice to Paolo Araldi before studying at the Academy of Fine Arts of Parma under Gaetano Callani. His early career involved small decorating jobs and sign-painting. Later, Diotti arrived in Milan, where he learned from the luminosity and sense of colour found in Emilian fresco painting practiced by Andrea Appiani. In 1804, a scholarship allowed him to study in Rome under Vincenzo Camuccini. Career and Notable Works Di…
A chart of Giuseppe Diotti's corpus mapped not by date but by subject. Spokes are what they painted; rings are when; and the threads between stars reveal the patrons and places that secretly connect them.
Each arm of the atlas gathers works by what they depict: portraits, sacred scenes, mythologies, and the scientific studies. Click a spoke to swing that cluster to the top.
Distance from the center marks time. The innermost ring is the earliest period; the outermost, the final years. Style matures as you move outward.
Coloured lines link works bound by the same patron, commission, or theme. Trace a context to watch related clusters light up across subjects.
