Hirohito (Showa): Life, Art & Historical Significance Early Life and Education Born in Tokyo, Japan on April 29, 1901, as Prince Michinomiya Hirohito. He was the eldest son of Crown Prince Yoshihito (later Emperor Taisho) and Princess Sadako.
