Jan Onghers
Life and Artistic Career Jan Onghers was a Flemish Baroque painter and draftsperson who operated in Prague and its surrounding areas. Born in Mechelen, Belgium, he was active in the Czech lands, where he was recorded as a citizen of Prague's Old Town in 1690. During his time in Prague, he married a widow named Anna Dorota, and they had six daughters. In 1714, he was elected to lead the Guild of Painters of St. Luke in the Old Town. His…
