František Lipták is a Slovak artist, painter, production designer, visual artist, illustrator, scenographer, and costume designer. His creative journey began with studies in graphics at the Secondary School of Art and Industry in Košice, followed by specialized training in theatrical scenography at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. His professional involvement in theater began as a student in 1985, designing sets and costumes for the Jonáš Záborský Theatre in Prešov. He has since worked in nearly all Slovak theaters, as well as in theaters across the Czech Republic and Poland. In 1990, he served briefly as the production manager at the State Puppet Theatre in Bratislava before co-founding the independent theater group Teatro Tatro as a scenographer.

Since 1991, Lipták has focused extensively on film scenography, establishing a significant collaboration with director Martin Šulík on numerous projects.
