    Wilson Bigaud began his life in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, finding his first expression through the tactile world of sculpture. This work allowed him to use scale to tell stories of faith and community.

Between 1957 and 1961, Bigaud faced periods of acute depression and entered a mental institution. During these difficult years, he eventually retreated to Petit-Goave to find peace.
