      André Derain: the painter's story

      Korai élet, család és képzés

1880-ban André Derain a Franciaország Yvelines tartományában fekvő, békés Chatou falujában jött a világra.

A konfliktus után André Derain a „rend back to order” (a rendhez való visszatérés) mozgalom egyik vezetőjává vált.

A művész továbbra is aktív maradt a művészeti életben, még akkor is, amikor Európa politikai landskápeja körül उसके ingadozott. Végül 1954. szeptember 8-án hunyt el, számos különböző kifejezésmódot megvalósított alkotással hagyva hátra magát.

      Örökség és Hatás

A fauvizmus hullámai, amelyeket André Derain segített megalapozni Henri Matisse mellett, messze túlra szólaltak, elszállva az első színes választások okozta sokktól.

Hatása állandó jelenessé vált a következő művészgenerációk számára, akik próbálták egyensúlyba hozni korai művei nyers energiáját későbbi alkotásai strukturált fegyelmeivel.
