Early Life, Family and Training Anton Funke Küpper was born in Ruhrort, Germany, on 28 February 1869. He was also known by the name Bernhard Anton Funke Küpper. His early years were shaped by the disciplined study of form and line, a path that eventually led him to the Academy of Visual Arts in Rotterdam for his formal education.
