His work focuses on the vanishing urban landscapes of the city and its surroundings, rendered with a precision that feels both immediate and archival. He does not merely paint scenes; he documents the disappearance of specific textures and light. His approach is rooted in a meticulous discipline, a skill he first developed

as a teenager through the painstaking process of hand-drawn animated films. This technical rigor eventually led him to a degree in film from New York University in 1980, but his trajectory shifted during a year spent at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.
