Warhol’s impact stems from his deliberate rejection of the traditional artist's hand. He frequently used a Polaroid Big Shot to capture his subjects, a practice that informed his visual language of immediacy and repetition. He did not merely observe the media age; he interrogated the very nature of what it means to be seen within it.

Lichtenstein strips away the visible brushstroke, replacing the artist's hand with the cold, calculated language of mass production. Texture is achieved through a deliberate, systematic application of Ben-Day dots. He did not merely participate in the Pop Art movement; he helped originate it, establishing a visual vocabulary that remains a primary reference point for how we consume images in a media-saturated age.

By mimicking decorative patterns, Lüg questioned the very definition of a painting—was it the unique expression of an artist or simply another commodity in a sea of mass-produced objects? Colin Self

Self’s artistic journey began at the Slade School of Fine Art from 1961 to 1963, where he received encouragement for his drawings and collages. Crucially, visits to the United States and Canada in 1962 and 1965 proved transformative. The ‘Odyssey/Iliad’ series of etchings, completed in the late 1990s, saw him return to his earlier technique of multiple-plate etching, retelling Homer's epic poem with a distinctly contemporary sensibility.
