A Life in Art Henry Monro was a British painter born in London on 30 August 1791. Educated at Harrow School, he initially considered careers in the Navy and the Army before choosing to pursue art. He enrolled as a student at the Royal Academy in 1806, where he eventually achieved the position of student 'President'.
