Albert Hoffsten
Early Life, Family and Training Albert Hoffsten was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on December 13, 1887. He grew up in a household led by his parents, Louis Hoffsten, who worked as a caretaker, and Johanna Christina Landelius. His early years in the Swedish capital provided the foundation for a life dedicated to visual expression, as he moved from the domestic sphere into the structured world of formal art education. His path as a painter
took shape through his studies in Stockholm. He sought out instruction at Konstnärsförbundets skola, a significant institution for those pursuing the arts at the time. Seeking to further refine his skills, he also attended Konstnärsförbundets tredje skola.
