The Artistic Evolution of Arman Born Armand Fernandez in Nice, France, the artist known as Arman was a painter, sculptor, visual artist, jewelry designer, illustrator, draftsperson, and performance artist. His early training began with oil painting and photography, skills learned from his father, Antonio Fernandez. After studying philosophy and mathematics, he attended the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Nice and later the École
du Louvre in Paris, where he focused on archaeology and Asian art. His career saw a significant shift when he began working with Cachets—rubber stamp marks on paper and fabric—following an exhibition for Kurt Schwitters.
