The Life and Artistic Journey of Max Bergmann Born in Fürstenberg, Germany, Max Bergmann was a painter who developed his artistic talent through formal training in both Berlin and Munich. His education began at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin-Charlottenburg, where he studied under Julius Ehrentraut and Konrad Böse. He later continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, attending the life drawing class of Lud
wig von Herterich and eventually becoming a master student of Heinrich von Zügel in the animal painting class. During his formative years, Bergmann traveled extensively, including a period of study in Paris where he formed a friendship with Marcel Duchamp.
