A Life of Devotional Artistry Born in Vannes, France, Adèle de Kercado was a prolific French copyist who maintained an active artistic career from at least the late 1830s until around 1860. Coming from an affluent Breton family, her life was marked by the shifting fortunes of her family's colonial holdings in Saint-Domingue.
