The Influence of Diana Croft & The Theft: A serendipitous encounter in Paris with Diana Croft—a fellow expatriate and London friend—proved pivotal. Tragically, Uhlman’s wallet containing his passport and substantial funds was stolen during a café visit, plunging him into despair and effectively stripping him of his legal status.
