The Versatile Artistry of Kees Timmer Born in Zaandam in 1903, Kees Timmer was a prolific Dutch artist whose creative reach extended across numerous disciplines. He was a sculptor, graphic artist, monumental artist, wall painter, painter, draftsman, jeweler, and mosaicist. After settling in Rotterdam in 1923, he refined his skills through evening art classes at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten, where he studied painting under Herman
Mees and drawing under David Bautz. His technical proficiency was recognized early on when he was awarded the Silver Academy Medal in 1928.
