Jonathan Kwegyir Aggrey is a celebrated Ghanaian watercolor artist known for his evocative depictions of coastal life and landscapes. His journey includes studying with mentor Enoch Yaw Mensah at Freehand Studio and pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from the University of Education, Winneba. Aggrey’s work has garnered international recognition through numerous exhibitions and publications across continents – including Ghana, Turkey, Romania, China, Thailand, Colombia, Mexico, Kosovo, Nigeria, Italy, France, Norway, South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Albania and Russia - and he holds prestigious awards such as the ‘Young Icon’ award in the Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah African Genius Awards (2014) and the ‘Golden Brush’ award in Gaziantep, Turkey (2017). He is currently president of International Watercolor Society-Africa.
