In the heart of Buenos Aires, a city shaped by profound sociopolitical shifts, Graciela Hasper began to find her voice through the language of lines and color. Her early years were spent absorbing the lessons of Diana Eisenberg’s workshop between 1988 and 1991, a period where she first learned to navigate the complexities of form. This formative era led her into the residency program of Guillermo Kuitca, an opportunity that placed her among a dedicated group of young Argentinian creators. It was during these years that she began to weave together the legacies of European Modernism—specifically the structured worlds of Mondrian and Malevich—with the local pulse of Argentine abstraction that had emerged following the era of military dictatorship.

Her presence in the art scene became firmly established through her involvement with the Rojas Group. As one of the few women within this collective, she helped push against the boundaries of what was considered acceptable in the local discourse. Her debut at the Rojas Gallery in 1992 arrived during a time of great transformation for Argentina, and it marked the beginning of a career defined by an intense focus on geometric precision.
