The Legacy of Juan de Parla
Juan de Parla was a painter whose historical footprint is defined by a singular, significant reference. His career remains largely a mystery, as there are no known details regarding the evolution of his pictorial style or his professional trajectory. The only surviving evidence of his work dates back to the year 1691.
His most notable contribution is the canvas titled San Francisco de Paula orando. This work was executed for a series intended for the church of the convent of the Minims. This piece is currently held within the prestigious collection of the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
