The first lasted from 1838 to 1849, taking him through Scandinavia, Finland, and the territories of the Russian Empire, reaching as far as the Caspian Sea and the Caucasus. During this time, he traveled through regions including Sweden, Russia, and the Crimea, where he was known by the name Abdullah among the local inhabitants. His second journey took place between 1850 and 1853, focusing again on Scandinavia and the northern regions of Sweden and Norway.
