Dominicus Anthonius Peduzzi was born in Amsterdam on November 2, 1817. Though he spent his life in the Netherlands, his heritage was Italian, a detail that traced back through his family roots. His formal training began when he was quite young. From 1828 to 1831, he studied at the Koninklijke Akademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. Family connections also played a part in his social and professional circle. He was the brother-in-law of Elias Pieter van Bommel. These ties linked him to other figures within the artistic community of the time.

Peduzzi spent much of his professional life within the streets of Amsterdam, establishing himself as a steady presence in the local art scene. He became a member of the Koninklijke Akademie van Beeldende Kunsten, a recognition that marked his standing among his peers in the city.
