The Life and Artistic Evolution of Enrique Arnal

Born in the mining complex of Catavi, Potosí, Enrique Arnal’s early years were shaped by the rugged landscapes of Bolivia. His childhood in the mining region, characterized by the presence of horses and a pet condor named Miguel, instilled a lifelong interest in animals. After moving through Oruro and La Paz, he attended boarding school in Buenos Aires, where he excelled in sports and began his formal artistic studies. A transformative experience in Machu Picchu, Peru, served as a spiritual awakening for the artist, leading to his first solo exhibition in Cusco at the age of 22. His career eventually took him to Paris, where he studied at the Cité Internationale des Arts, and his work was exhibited in major cities including Washington D.C., New York, and Bogotá.
