Louis Coblitz lived his life within the boundaries of Mannheim. Born in 1814, he spent his years in this German city until his death in 1863. His work often turned toward the people of his region. In 1837, he painted a woman from Hauenstein with a child, a piece that remains in the Städtische Museen Freiburg.
