The Life and Art of Willem Linnig the Elder
Born in Antwerp, Belgium, Willem Linnig the Elder was a painter and printmaker who dedicated his career to the mastery of genre scenes and history. He received his formal training at the Antwerp Academy of Fine Arts, studying under the prominent teacher Jan August Hendrik Leys, as well as Erin Corr.
