      Alexander Nasmyth war eine zentrale Figur in der schottischen Kunstgeschichte, bekannt sowohl als Porträtist als auch, vor allem aber, als Landschaftsmaler.       Frühes Leben und Ausbildung

      • Machte eine Lehre als Karosseriebauer, bevor er sich der Kunst widmete.
      • Studierte an der Royal High School und der Trustees’ Academy in Edinburgh.
