      Vaclav Vytlacil (1. November 1892 – 5. Geboren in New York City inmitten des aufkeimenden künstlerischen Eifers des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts, prägten seine prägenden Jahre eine unerschütterliche Hingabe an die Erforschung neuer Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten – eine Überzeugung, die sein lebenslanges künstlerisches Streben definieren sollte. Kurz nach seiner Geburt zog er mit seiner Familie nach Chicago, wo der Kontakt zu vielfältigen kulturellen Einflüssen seine ästhetische Sensibilität formte. Seine formale künstlerische Ausbildung begann 1906 am Art Institute of Chicago, wo er grundlegende Fertigkeiten perfektionierte und die damals vorherrschenden Stilströmungen in sich aufnahm.
