Goodall’s journey to Egypt coincided with the burgeoning interest in documenting ethnographic studies, marking him as an early pioneer in this field.
      • Symbolism: The inclusion of sheep and goats isn't merely decorative; it serves as a deliberate reference to biblical narratives concerning Abraham and Moses—symbols of faith and divine providence. Goodall’s decision to bring these animals back from Egypt underscores his commitment to authenticity and reinforces the painting’s spiritual dimension.
