Born in Bucharest, Romania, Galya’s journey began with a deep fascination for storytelling – initially through literature and later evolving into visual mediums like photography and filmmaking. This passion fueled her pursuit of education, culminating in degrees from Veliko Tarnovo University specializing in National Security Law.

Her formative years were marked by engagement with social activism, particularly within the Romani community. Recognizing the importance of preserving Roma heritage and advocating for its recognition, Galya actively participated in initiatives aimed at fostering cultural understanding and empowering Roma women.
