His early years were rooted in the traditions of the region, leading him to study at the art department of the Higher Pedagogical School in Prešov, which he completed in 1955. He later continued his formal education at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava between 1959 and 1964. His professional path was closely tied to Trebišov, where he worked from 1956. The landscapes of the East Slovak Lowland became a central part of his visual language.
