Born in Chattanooga, United States, his professional journey has seen him excel as a puppeteer, set designer, animator, and cartoonist. His work in television and music videos has earned him significant recognition, including two Emmy Awards for his contributions to the set and puppet designs of Pee-wee's Playhouse. White often takes mass-produced lithographs sourced from secondhand thrift stores and applies painstaking, glossy, 3-D style lettering or phrases onto them. This method has led to various collaborations, including creating cover art for the band Lambchop and the X album Alphabetland.
