      • Lieu de naissance : Forlì, Italie
      • Dates : Né vers 1438 – Décédé en novembre 1494
      • Origines familiales : Vient vraisemblablement d'une famille aisée nommée Ambrosi à Forlì.
      • Première formation : Les détails sont rares ; on suppose qu’il a été influencé par l’école forlivese, notamment Ansuino da Forlì, tous deux impactés par Andrea Mantegna.
      • Apprentissage possible : Certains récits suggèrent qu'il aurait pu travailler comme compagnon et broyeur de couleurs pour des maîtres peintres.
      • Premières mentions : Documenté pour la première fois en 1460 et 1464 à Forlì.

      Période romaine et développement artistique (1470-1484)

      • Collaboration avec Antoniazzo Romano : Vers 1472-1474, il a peint des fresques dans la chapelle Bessarione à Rome aux côtés d'Antoniazzo Romano.
