Niños jugando (Children Playing) reveals his qualities as a painter in a scene where the artist pierces the intimacy of a half-empty room, to catch a playful instant by surprise, by turning back the veil of the enclosed universe where erotic mischief happens, and brings to light the taboo subject of early sexuality to show it with simplicity and limited elements.The viewer becomes part of the little secret and discovers the presence of two children jumping on a bed. The author covers the scene with innocence by turning to children’s doodles as a form of plastic art interpretation. The characters are formed by two intertwining lines distinguished by the color that appears on the edge of a patch of swift brushstrokes. The group of different sized lines stands out on the gray background made with thick glazing, creating a setting of playful depravity, in this piece that forms part of the collection since 1994.
