      Jeunesse et Éducation

      • Sir Hubert von Herkomer (né Hubert Herkomer le 26 mai 1849 – décédé le 31 mars 1914) était un peintre, réalisateur de films et compositeur né en Allemagne, naturalisé britannique.
      • Sa famille venait de Bavière mais connaissait des difficultés financières ; sa mère complétait leurs revenus en donnant des cours de musique.
      • L'éducation formelle de Herkomer fut limitée à cause de maladie, et il ne retourna pas à l'école après être tombé malade à un jeune âge.
      • Il débuta sa formation artistique à Southampton avant d'aller aux South Kensington Schools en 1866 pour des études plus sérieuses.
