The Life and Art of Édouard Sain

His work also included a historical painting from the period of Louis XV and an oil painting commemorating a visit by the Emperor and Empress of France to the crèche of Sister Rosalie.

His time in Capri inspired various works, including Fouilles à Pompéi, Fileuse à Capri, and Le Repas de noces à Capri. These experiences were later recorded in his 1879 book, Souvenirs d'Italie.
