Throughout his career, Tröger engaged in various professional roles, including serving as a costume advisor at the Hof- und Landestheater Meiningen and working as a teacher at the Kunstschule of Guido Richter and the Heeres-Handwerker-Schule in Dresden.
Tröger's travels were significant to his development, including study trips to Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Austria, and France. During his career, he experimented with ceramic mural painting at the Meißner Porzellanmanufaktur. He was a member of several artistic groups, including the Dresdner Sezession 1932, the Künstlergruppe Freie Künstlerschaft Sachsen, and the Künstlergruppe Das Ufer. His work has been featured in various exhibitions across cities such as Dresden, Berlin, Leipzig, and Halle.
