      Primi Anni e Formazione

      • Nato il 12 maggio 1885, a Sassari, in Sardegna, Italia.
      • Suo padre era un ingegnere e suo nonno materno, Ignazio Villa, era un architetto e scultore rispettato – fornendo una precoce esposizione artistica.
      • Inizialmente studiò ingegneria all'Università di Roma ma l'abbandonò nel 1903 a seguito di un crollo nervoso. Questo segnò un punto di svolta verso l’arte.
      • Cominciò la formazione artistica alla Scuola Libera del Nudo dell'Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, dove conobbe il suo primo insegnante significativo, Giacomo Balla.

      Sviluppo Artistico e Influenze

      • Le sue prime opere furono fortemente influenzate dal Divisionismo, una tecnica che enfatizzava i colori separati per creare luminosità – esemplificata da opere come “Lo Studente”.
      • Ha sperimentato brevemente con il Futurismo intorno al 1914, esponendo alla Galleria Sprovieri a Roma. Tuttavia, si è rapidamente allontanato dal suo focus sulla velocità e la dinamicità.
