作品の詳細

Alfredo Guttero stayed in close touch with the Río de la Plata scene during his extended stay in Europe (1904–1927). He participated in local juried shows, supported attempts to modernize public art institutions, followed what was happening locally through publications and letters from fellow artists, sent local critics information about his works and exhibitions in France, Germany, and Italy, spent time with many of the young Argentine artists studying in Europe, and cofounded the Asociación de Artistas Argentinos en Europa. Two solo shows of his work were held in two of the many European cities where he lived, as well as numerous group shows and juried shows of both fine and decorative art. The idea was to produce novelty by recreating some aspects of different artistic and cultural traditions. Rendered in watercolor and graphite,
