• Fleetwood Landscapes – A Defining Style: Lumb's oeuvre is overwhelmingly dominated by landscapes centered around Fleetwood harbor and Marton Mere. His approach distinguishes itself from more literal representations; instead, he seeks to capture the essence of these locations—the subtle shifts in light, the hazy atmosphere, and the interplay between water and land.

He employs loose brushstrokes and expressive handling to convey mood and atmosphere, mirroring the Impressionist movement's emphasis on capturing fleeting moments of visual experience.
• Notable Works & Recognition: Among Lumb’s celebrated paintings are ‘Ferry at Knott End,’ ‘Docked Trawlers, Fleetwood,’ and ‘Trawlers, Fleetwood Dock.’ These works have garnered critical acclaim for their masterful execution and evocative portrayal of coastal life. His paintings are held in private collections throughout Britain.
