Artistic Profile and Education
Miroslav Knap is a Slovak painter, graphic artist, illustrator, and art educator. His diverse body of work encompasses free and applied graphics, graphic design, ex libris, book illustration, drawing, and painting. He has presented his creations at various exhibitions of Slovak fine art both domestically and abroad. His professional journey includes collaborations with the P. O. Hviezdoslav Museum in Dolný Kubín and representing Slovakia at the World Expo 2015 in Milan, Italy, as well as at the Consulate Days in Lyon, France, and the VII International Tourism Fair in Zabrze, Poland.
His formal training began in 1988 at the Secondary School of Arts and Industry in Kremnica, where he studied surface and plastic metalwork. In 1991, he continued his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, specializing in free graphics and book illustration. In 1994, he completed an internship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, Poland. Currently, he serves as a teacher of professional subjects at the Spojená škola v Nižnej and at the Základná umelecká škola v Trstene.
Exhibitions and Recognition
Knap's career is marked by extensive participation in international graphic symposia and competitions, particularly in the field of ex libris. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions across Europe, including locations in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Belgium, and Sweden. Notable solo exhibitions have taken place in cities such as Bratislava, Košice, and Krakow.
