Albertas Edelfeltas, gimęs liepos 21 dieną 1854 metais Porvoo mieste Suomijoje, buvo išskirtinis tapytojas, kurio vardas įėjo į Suomijos meno istoriją. Jo tėvai, Karl Albertas Edelfeltas ir Aleksandra Edelfelt (Brandt), kalbėjo švedų kalba, tačiau sūnaus gyvenime stipriai pasireiškė ryšys su gimtosios šalies kultūra.
