Artistic Practice and Mediums
Patrik Prosko is a sculptor, multimedia artist, and traveler born in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. His creative practice involves non-invasive art within public spaces, where he utilizes the environment as both sculptural material and a painterly canvas. His body of work encompasses a diverse range of approaches, including hyperrealistic sculptures of scientific reconstructions of animals and humans, expressive sculptural portraits, and illusionary anamorphic installations and paintings.
Prosko’s work often focuses on the manipulation of lived reality through optical illusions, aiming to transform the perceived everyday world into a space of change and unexpected events. His site-specific interventions in landscapes are characterized by a careful selection of locations and an engagement with the concept of transience. He has created over 70 artistic projects across 24 countries, often working on the edge of reality through the use of biologically degradable colors and other materials.
