Julien Levy, een vooraanstaande kunsthandelaar en eigenaar van de Julien Levy Gallery in New York City, werd geboren op 22 januari 1906. Hij studeerde museumadministratie aan Harvard onder de begeleiding van Paul J. Sachs, maar besloot kort voor zijn afstuderen de studie te verlaten.
