His education continued at the National Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Antwerp, where he studied monumental art and painting. His work also extended to the stage, where he designed costumes and sets for the National Theatre of Antwerp. This theatrical involvement influenced his personal style, leading him to incorporate actresses, plants, and reveries into his compositions.
In the later years of his career, specifically between 1952 and 1954, he created works inspired by the views of the port of Antwerp. His technical approach evolved as he moved toward abstraction, utilizing the encaustic technique alongside the traditional medium of oil on canvas. Throughout his career, he participated in numerous exhibitions, both national and international, and his works are held in the collections of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels.
